After weeks and months of speculation, we finally have the official release date for the Dimensity 9300 SoC. The anticipated processor will arrive in China on 6 November 2023. That said, what should you know about it?

If everything goes smoothly, this high-end processor will compete with the Exynos 2400 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 on the market. Notably, it sports 4 x ARM Cortex-X4 cores instead of one. That is a huge advantage compared to other processors. Normally, chip makers only use one Cortex-X core for their flagship chipsets.

In addition, the multiple Cortex-X4 cores will be great for heavy tasks. The SoC will come in a 1 + 3 arrangement. The “Prime” core will run 3.25 GHz while the rest will run 2.85 GHz. The four cores will be Cortex-A720 maxing out at 3 GHz. As you can expect, this processor aims to deliver high performance.

The proof? This processor broke the 2 million thresholds on Antutu and it is topping the list now. In perspective, it has a 65% better CPU score and 55% GPU score than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Exynos 2400 SoCs come pretty close to its performance.

If everything goes smoothly, the MediaTek processor might overtake Snapdragon’s throne as the go-to processor for Android phones. We have yet to confirm the Malaysia release date for the processor. But we could expect it to arrive very soon.
