The National automaker Proton targets to produce 60,000 face shields in 20 days for medical frontliners!

With the rising cases of Covid-19 in Malaysia and limited supply of medical protective gear, Proton Holdings Bhd took the initiative to support our medical frontliners by producing face shields which is an important Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) worn by health workers on the frontline.

The National automaker targets to produce 60,000 face shields in the expected production timeline of 20 days, which will be distributed for free followed by the loan of 50 units of Proton X70 to the Ministry of Health (MoH) last month. The production will begin on 13 April at Proton’s headquarters in Shah Alam and will be undertaken by staff members who have volunteered for this production.

Medical Face Shield worn by Medical Frontliners

Proton Deputy chief executive officer Datuk Radzaid Mohamed mentioned the company is driven by its responsibility to support the brave men and women on the frontline in containing the spread fo Covid-19 as a national automotive brand. He also added that the face shield will be delivered in batches while working closely with the MoH to distribute them according to the level of need in each district.
