Before the Nothing Ear (3) launches tomorrow, Nothing did another teaser - a brand new Super Mic system. As the name suggests, it is definitely a new mic that will help to enhance network call volumes.

A New Chapter in Nothing’s Design Language

The case of the Ear (3) is made from 100% anodised recycled aluminium, underscoring Nothing’s commitment to sustainable craftsmanship. The earbuds adopt smoother curves and a more ergonomic shape, while introducing a new Super Mic system, promising improved audio pickup for calls and voice commands.

“With Ear (3), we've evolved our design language by focusing on the fundamentals: the engineering and the experience, resulting in an elevated product that looks and feels different, and functions in ways that are completely new to the industry.

The approach to materials and processes, notably the use of anodised aluminium for the case structure and the earbud antenna, has enabled a product which is undoubtedly new, yet unmistakably Nothing,” said Adam Bates, Design Director at Nothing.

Iconic Transparency, Reinforced with Metal

The Ear (3) continues the brand’s hallmark transparent aesthetic but elevates it with metal components that add a premium edge and enhanced durability. Nothing has reengineered the internal structure to achieve an ultra-slim design, minimising clearance between components for a more compact build.

A redesigned metal antenna now features a flat finish with a controlled thickness of just 0.35mm, pushing the limits of current industry manufacturing standards.
