The Nothing Phone (3) could arrive in 2025 with new AI features

Last July, Nothing released the Nothing Phone (2), and as usual, we can expect its successor to be released soon. However, Nothing founder and CEO Carl Pei announced today that the release of the Nothing Phone (3) will be postponed until 2025. That said, what should you know about it?

This broke the tradition of high-end smartphones being updated once a year, which attracted widespread attention in the industry. The reason Nothing chose to postpone the release was artificial intelligence (AI). Carl Pei said that although most manufacturers are keen to promote various AI functions, Nothing will not release a new phone next month and hype its AI features. Instead, they choose to spend more time "redefining the user interface and integrating AI at the smartphone system level to bring a highly personalized and dynamic user experience."

In the video, Carl Pei mentioned the concept of "post-application era" several times, which is as marketing-sounding as "artificial intelligence" and contradicts his previous criticism of competitors' excessive pursuit of "artificial intelligence". Carl Pei said that Nothing hopes to "build a bridge" between today's application-dominated world and the future "post-application era".

According to GsmArena, Nothing's delay in releasing Phone (3) may be related to the poor sales of Phone (2). In comparison, the mid-range model Nothing Phone (2a) seems to be more successful, so Nothing does not want to take the risk of launching Phone (3) which may repeat the mistakes of Phone (2). The above is still online news and has yet to be officially announced.

We have yet to confirm other details or the Malaysia release date for the device. So, we should wait for more confirmation from Nothing. Hopefully, everything goes well.
