The OPPO Reno 8 series launch is just around the corner with several promotions appearing online. But before the launch, OPPO has just confirmed that the OPPO Reno 8 Pro will indeed be the world's first phone to feature a new Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset.
This was pretty much confirmed by the company on its official Weibo account. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset will serve as a mid-ranger and it's built on a 4nm node by Samsung. Reports are also saying that it's a 20% and 30% increase in terms of GPU and AI processing performance respectively from the predecessor.
Besides that, OPPO has also teased that the Reno 8 series may also get another sweet feature which is the MariSilicon X imaging chipset. In case you didn't know, this chipset is OPPO's first attempt and it made its debut on the OPPO Find X5 Pro. We recently reviewed the flagship and were quite impressed with the photo and video performance.
That being said, it's unclear how the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset would get along with the MariSilicon X. The Reno 8 Pro is also said to sport a 6.43-inch AMOLED display, as well as either an 8GB + 128GB or 8GB + 256GB memory capacity. Finally, it could also come in Clear Sky Blue and Night Tour Black.
The OPPO Reno 8 series will be unveiled pretty soon tonight in China. The Reno series is also quite popular in Malaysia, so we are expecting it to arrive in a few more months. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
