It was not that long ago when POCO India confirmed that the POCO F7 will launch as the biggest phone battery ever, with a massive 7550mAh battery. However, the POCO F7 global variant will only come with a 6500mAh battery. What's the deal?
Battery Shrink Not Explained
POCO hasn’t officially explained the decision, but regional hardware adjustments (whether for cost, weight, or supply chain reasons) appear to be at play. Despite the reduction, the 6500 mAh pack still surpasses the battery capacities of the F7 Pro and Pro Ultra models sold globally.
While both regional variants have different battery power, both still feature the same 90W fast charging and 22.5W reverse charging. Other tech specs remain the same as well.
The Other Tech Specs
So far, the global F7 mirrors its India sibling:
- Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset
- 6.83‑inch OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution
- Memory configurations including up to 12GB of RAM and UFS 4.1 storage
- A 50MP primary camera
- 3D IceLoop cooling system
Lesser Battery Juice, But Still Competitive
Even with a smaller battery, the global POCO F7 maintains flagship-tier specs and strong performance (on paper). It’s shaping up to be a value-packed midrange contender, which is very popular in the Malaysian market.
