RHB Bank announced that the RHB Mobile Banking application will no longer support devices running Android 10 and below and iOS 15 and below starting 1 June 2026. So, what should you know about it?
To ensure the security of online banking is guaranteed
According to RHB, this step was taken to ensure that the level of security of online banking is always guaranteed, as older operating systems no longer receive security updates from developers such as Google and Apple.
After that date, users with devices running Android 10 or later and iOS 15 or later will no longer be able to access the RHB Mobile Banking app. Although customers can still log in to RHB internet banking via a web browser, financial transactions cannot be carried out as the approval process requires the Secure Plus feature in the mobile app.
Moreover, to ensure uninterrupted service, Android users need to update their devices to at least Android 11 or newer, while iPhone users need to use at least iOS 16. RHB also encourages users to upgrade to newer versions, such as Android 13 or iOS 17, to get the latest security updates.
If the device no longer supports that operating system, users may need to consider upgrading to a newer smartphone.
