Last Friday, ASUS Republic of Gamers confirmed the existence of a new ROG Ally. Although it's not the ROG Ally 2 that we initially thought but rather, it's called the ROG Ally X as a buffed-up version of the current model.

Not much information is known about the ROG Ally X but ASUS did give some hints here and there. It's aligned with a tipster that the ROG Ally X will retain most of the core tech specs such as the Ryzen Z1 Series processor and a 7-inch 120Hz FHD display. We think the rest of the design will probably remain the same as well but will come in black.

In addition, the tipster claimed that the ROG Ally X will have a new 1TB SSD of storage. That's twice as much of space compared to the current ROG Ally. That said, he has no idea about the battery capacity but it's believed to be a "significant improvement".

Another thing that the tipster said was the price. The ROG Ally X could be a hundred bucks more expensive than the ROG Ally Z1 Extreme model which is $799. For context, it's priced at RM3299 in the Malaysian market so do expect a few hundred Ringgit more for the ROG Ally X version.
