This morning, Google released the latest Google Tensor G5 chipset. This is the first Tensor chip using TSMC's 3nm technology. So, what should you know about it?
Better than its predecessor
For your information, Google has not revealed full specifications, only saying that the G5 comes with one performance CPU core, five mid-range cores, and two energy-saving cores. Overall, the G5 CPU is 34% faster than the G4.
Additionally, this CPU runs a 60% more powerful TPU, which enables the Pixel 10 series to run the latest Gemini Nano model right out of the box.
Moreover, Google adds that Gemini Nano’s processing is now 2.6x faster but 2x more efficient when running the Pixel Screenshots and Recorder apps.
In addition, Gemini Nano now has 32K token levels compared to just 12K last year. This means it can process larger documents.
Furthermore, the chip's ISP is enhanced to improve low-light shooting and video performance. With the G5's enhanced power, features like Add Me, Auto Best Take, 100x Pro Res Zoom, Magic Cue, Call Notes, and Scam Detection can be operated quickly.
Unfortunately, there are no further details on the news. So, we should wait for more announcements and news from Google. Hopefully, it will come soon.
