The USA could ban TP-Link products

Recently, there have been several reports that a number of government agencies are in the process of banning the use of TP-Link routers in the country. This is because they say that TP-Link may be forced to hand over network details to the Chinese government if requested.

This is not the first time for TP-Link

This is nothing new. Previously, TP-Link Technologies had faced the same issue, which led them to open a new business entity specifically for the US market. In fact, a company spokesperson said that TP-Link in the United States has no connection with any entity in China, and therefore is not bound by laws that require companies to provide details of their product users to the government.

At this time, the US government has not revealed any solid evidence on the need to ban the products or when they will do so. The US President is currently at the APEC conference in South Korea and is seen discussing various trade issues with the Chinese side.

What about Malaysia?

As of now, there are no news or announcements from the government regarding this matter. So, we should wait for further announcements from the authorities.
