The Redmi K30 is Redmi's first 5G smartphone and it had caused quite a stir with some of its powerful features. After the launch of the device, it is rumoured that a cheaper variant of the 5G smartphone will be launched in the near future. However, the rumour has calmed down for a while until someone spotted a code revealing the K30i will come with a 48MP camera recently.

The finding was actually done by a XDA Developers' member named kacskrz through spotting a string of code from the MIUI Camera app. It confirmed that the 'lite version' will be using a 48MP sensor in its main camera instead of a 64MP sensor from the standard Redmi K30. Besides that, the string also revealed the device goes by the codename 'Picasso', which was the same codename for the Redmi K30 before it was launched. Therefore, it further proves that Redmi K30i is a real thing!

Furthermore, the device is also said to carry a similar design and tech specs from the K30. Although the brand hasn't announced anything yet regarding the device, it is speculated that they will simply announce it on Weibo soon as the K30i only brings a few minor changes. Therefore, sit still for a little while for the cheaper version of Redmi K30 to arrive.
