Due to popular demand, the first Angry Birds game has returned to Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Although the game's developer, Rovio, has brought newer entries down the line, none of them can replace the one that started it all. Therefore, it has decided to give the classic an internal upgrade and bring it back for the users who have been asking for it.
The classic Angry Birds had to go was because it couldn't keep up with the latest technologies. "Today's mobile technology and games landscape has evolved to a place where supporting them was untenable," the company stated. The developer also couldn't just leave it in the stores as it would eventually be incompatible with the latest mobile operating systems.
However, after hearing fans' requests, the company rebuilt the original Angry Birds from scratch using Unity. It's a much more involved process than simply touching up older graphics or updating game mechanics. Despite the challenges, the app still made it to the mentioned app stores for 99 cents in USD (~RM4.17). Furthermore, the Mighty Eagle (an old in-app purchase) will also be available at no extra cost.
