The dilemma of Apple's 3.5mm headphone jack 'removal'

Whether you like it or not, it seems inevitable that Apple is going to remove the 3.5mm headphone jack even though it's just a rumour and a popular one. If this really happens, Apple's decision will change the headphone market. In fact, some companies have already designed their own Lightning-connected headphones in anticipation, it could cost a lot too since Lightning adapters aren't common.

What's more, the problem arises when that adapter can't be used on anything else. But for the customers' convenience, Apple is very likely to manufacture their own Lightning to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter so that they will have a way to listen to music (check out the video above), in addition to that, there are reports that Apple is developing premium wireless earphones influenced by Bragi Dash's design.

In other news, while the Apple fans are not so pleased with the bold move. Other critics are pretty laid back about it, take Nilay Patel from The Verge, John Gruber and Steve Streza, mentioning the whole commotion is silly. Gruber also compared the case to the time when Apple removed the floppy drive years ago, there was a public outrage and it became quiet again. So to say, every single time Apple does something like this; like the removal of the floppy drive on the Mac, followed by the lack of a physical keyboard on the iPhone, then the removal of the optical drive on MacBooks, the mouse, USB ports and many others, the outcry is always the same then everyone just calms down after that.

I think there are some truths to that statement, for some reason, people are always looking for something to talk about. And regardless of whether Apple will remove the headphone jack, people are still gonna buy the new Apple device anyway. And for all you know, the competitors would try to copy Apple's move as well in the future.

But what say you? Do you agree with the critics' statement? Or you really think it's a bad move. Let us know in the comments below, stay tuned for more news at Technave.com.
