As teased, the Xiaomi CC9 Pro has finally been unveiled and it's the first commercial smartphone with a 108MP Penta camera setup with a starting price of ~RM1653 only! Should it be true, this phone could very well be the China equivalent of the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 that's coming to Malaysia soon. So let's take a look at the tech specs and features below.
Despite carrying the name 'Pro', it turns out that the smartphone is just a mid-range class tier sporting a Snapdragon 730G chipset, 6GB/8GB RAM + 128GB/256GB ROM memory, as well as a rather large 5260mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. It's said that the CC9 Pro can be charged up to 58% within 30 minutes and the OLED display measures 6.47-inches in 1080p (FHD+).
As for the camera, it has a total of five cameras on the back - a 108MP (main) + 20MP (117° super wide-angle lens) + 12MP (50mm portrait lens) + macro lens + 8MP ultra-telephoto camera (supports 10x hybrid zoom and 50x electronic zoom). In case you have forgotten, the main lens uses a large 1/1.33-inch sensor and a 7P lens (the exclusive version has an 8P lens) to fully utilize the 108MP capability, alongside an Optical Image Stabilizer. The front camera is hanging out on the dewdrop, using 32MP.
With the 108MP main camera in hand, Xiaomi is really focusing this phone as a camera-centric product. In addition, the Super Night Scene got enhanced a lot thanks to the 1/1.33 sensor allowing more light. Photos can be taken in RAW format and the front camera also supports movie mode and low-light portrait self-timer. Xiaomi was also very proud to announce that the CC9 Pro shares the top spot with the Huawei Mate 30 Pro at 121 points in the DxOMark chart.
There are three variants for the CC9 Pro:
- 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM (~RM1653)
- 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM (~RM1831)
- Exclusive version 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM (~RM2067)
