New leaks and reports suggest Apple is preparing a foldable iPhone for launch in fall 2026, tentatively alongside the iPhone 18 lineup. One of the more interesting rumours: its design may resemble two iPhone Airs side by side, with a slim, sleek titanium chassis.
Design and Build
According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, we can expect a super-thin profile reminiscent of the iPhone Air when opened flat, with a titanium body for durability and a premium feel. The idea is that when fully unfolded, it looks like two Air models placed next to each other. Such a design would represent a significant engineering achievement.
Where It’s Made
Apple is reportedly going to produce most of this foldable model in China, despite earlier rumours that some manufacturing might shift to India. The China production plan seems more certain, though some portion may still come from other locations.
Price Expectations
Early indications put the price of the foldable iPhone at a minimum of USD2000 (~RM8.4K), with many guesses landing in the $2100–$2300 (~RM8.8K–~RM9.6K) range. This puts it in the premium tier, reflecting the new display tech, folding mechanism, and materials.
When It’s Coming
Apple is expected to unveil this foldable iPhone in September 2026, in line with its typical hardware announcement cycle. However, the actual availability might slip into October or November, similar to past “new-product” rollouts.
There's still a year to go, so until then, stay tuned for the big announcement next year. Only at TechNave.com.
