The iPhone 15 series can be pre-ordered from 22 September onwards in Malaysia and besides Apple Malaysia, our local telcos will also offer the new lineup on the same date. However, will all the iPhone 15 models support eSIM only?

During the Apple Event presentation, eSIM was mentioned and if you recall, the iPhone 14 series became eSIM only in the US market. This time, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are not compatible with physical SIM cards. For Malaysia, we will still get a physical nano-SIM card tray as well as an optional eSIM support as seen on this specs page.

In other markets, Canada, Mexico and Japan will also have the same dual SIM (nano-SIM and eSIM) support on the iPhone 15 series. As for the Chinese market (including Hong Kong and Macao), the lineup relies on a dual nano-SIM tray.

As aforementioned, the iPhone 15 series pre-order will be on 22 September 2023 onwards, whereas the opening launch begins on 29 September 2023. There is still no information about the pre-order bundles yet but the telcos will likely reveal them at 12:01 AM on the same day.
