We are still early in 2024 and there are already reports of what the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus could have. Of course, it's always best to take a pinch of salt over these rumours but if you can't help yourself, continue below about the new alleged upgrades.

One of the common rumours about the iPhone 16 is the rear camera design layout. It is reported that the dual rear camera module may revert to a vertical position just like the iPhone 12 to support spatial video recording. On top of that, the new "capture button" may appear alongside the Action button to specialize in photography and videography features.

Besides the cameras, reports also say that the vanilla iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus may finally get the next-gen A18 chipset in 3nm instead of getting the older chip treatment. Apple is expected to showcase a few new AI features so it makes sense to have a new one. The RAM could also get bumped up to 8GB, as well as having WiFi 6E connectivity.

On the battery pack side, the iPhone 16 could have a significant upgrade, jumping from the iPhone 15's 3349 mAh to 3561 mAh. However, the iPhone 16 Plus' battery may downgrade to just 4006mAh from the iPhone 15 Plus' 4383mAh. That said, the wired charging for both is said to improve with up to 40W, while the wireless MagSafe charging may be 20W.

Other upcoming features for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus could be having more efficient OLED displays with brighter micro-lens technology, upgraded microphones with improved signal-to-noise ratio and water resistance, as well as the aforementioned AI features that are coming in iOS 18. Again, these are just reports from leaks so it's up to you to believe them.
