Apple Intelligence was the highlight during the WWDC 24 event but as reported before, some of the features will only come a few weeks later after iOS 18. The iOS 18.1 beta has already been released and the delay is becoming even more evident.
According to sources, some of the features weren't even found on iOS 18.1 beta yet. This includes Image Playground, one of the intriguing features that lets iPhone users generate images via AI. Apple is very likely to take it slow as usual and may even label all of the Apple Intelligence features as beta on the iPhone 16 series launch, just like it did with Siri a few years back.
So when will all the Apple Intelligence features be released then? Well, Apple didn't exactly give an exact date but should be ready by fall. In the US, the fall season begins on 22 September and lasts until 20 December 2024 this year, so it could be any day in between.
A few sources also have inconsistent reports on when all the Apple Intelligence features be released. Bloomberg said the new Siri with ChatGPT may not even appear as a developer beta until next year, but Joanna Stern from the WSJ reported otherwise, saying “Siri’s ability to perform actions within third-party apps is coming next year.”
Currently, the iOS 18.1 developer beta is providing some of the first wave of Apple Intelligence features. This includes:
- Writing tools
- Some Siri improvements, including maintaining context between queries
- Mail features, including summaries and smart replies
- Natural language searches in Photos, and more
- Summaries of transcriptions
