WhatsApp might have finally decided to release a feature that some Android smartwatch users have been waiting for. In the latest beta, the messaging app gets support for answering calls directly on the wearables, but there's some catch.

According to the source, the feature is only compatible with the Wear OS 3 smartwatches. Besides that, it is currently a one-way affair, meaning you can only pick up calls but not initiate them. If you'd like to give a call to someone, you still have to take out your phone to do so.

Furthermore, not all Wear OS 3 smartwatches work with it. The current list of devices is quite limited, including only the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, the Montblanc Summit 3, and the newly launched Samsung Galaxy Watch 5. If you have all the requirements fulfilled and participated in WhatsApp's testing program, you may try out the feature now. It's worth mentioning that it doesn't need you to head over to the setting, as it's turned on by default.
