Factory reset a locked iPhone can be a hassle. Users would have to connect the device to a PC to perform the necessary action. Now, it looks like you won't have to do that anymore, as the new iOS update is saving you some troubles by allowing users to directly reset a locked iPhone without connecting to any external devices.

The latest iOS 15.2 update added the ability to erase and reset a locked iPhone or iPad without using a PC or Mac. When you're on the 'Security Lockout' screen after countless failed password attempts, you will see an 'Erase iPhone' option on the bottom right corner. If you're sure to proceed, enter your Apple ID password as the final step to wipe the device clean.

Modern problems require modern solutions. This new feature added by Apple should help users avoid looking for a PC to reset their locked Apple devices. With just a few taps on the screen, and you're good to go. However, if you happen to be at a place where you can't connect to Wi-Fi or cellular, you still have to follow the traditional method.
