Apple is reportedly preparing to launch its next-generation iPad Pro in October 2025, with an expected starting price of RM3399.
The upcoming model is said to include two front-facing cameras—one positioned for landscape use and the other for portrait orientation—alongside the new Apple M5 chip.
What happened?
According to industry sources, this dual-camera setup would enhance video calls and selfies by allowing users to remain in frame regardless of how the iPad is held.
This change addresses previous limitations where users had to rotate the iPad for portrait mode video calls, despite Face ID working in both orientations.
The current iPad Pro, launched in May 2024, introduced OLED displays and a slimmer design. It also moved the single front-facing camera to the longer edge to better suit landscape usage.
The new model appears to build on that direction by adding a second camera to further improve usability across various use cases.
Apple is expected to begin mass production of the updated iPad Pro in the second half of 2025. If the timeline holds, the device will likely be announced in September or October and could be the first Apple product to debut with the M5 chip.
Apple iPad Pro (2026) – Expected tech specs
The following features are anticipated for the 2026 iPad Pro:
- Apple M5 chip
- Dual front-facing cameras: one for landscape, one for portrait use
- OLED display (carried over from 2024 model)
- Slimmer chassis and bezels
- Face ID support in both orientations
Tech observers view the dual-camera upgrade as a practical improvement rather than a major redesign.
It is aimed at providing a smoother experience for both casual users and professionals who use the iPad Pro for video conferencing, content creation, or social media in Malaysia and globally.
