Last week, Apple fans were spoiled with the release of the new Apple iPhone 15. Few outlets reported that the new phone sports a faster 5G modem. The question is, how fast is it exactly? Is it a lot faster compared to the previous model?

According to SpeedSmart, the iPhone 15’s 5G modem offers up to 24% faster download speed. This progress can be linked to its new Qualcomm Snapdragon X70 modem. Hence, it is not surprising because the modem is specifically built to deliver lightning-fast download and upload speeds

In addition, the average download speed of the iPhone 15 Pro on Verizon’s network is recorded at 243.06Mbps. This is faster compared to the iPhone 14 Pro at 195.83Mbps. On the other hand, the phone modem’s average 5G download speed for the T-Mobile network is 300.92Mbps and 204.34Mbps for the AT&T network.

On top of that, the new iPhone 15 modem can maintain a strong signal over longer distances. That is a lifesaver because it automatically gives you more internet coverage. But it does not end there, the X70 modem chip consumes less power than previous modem chips. That would help you save your battery and prolong your phone usage.
