Nintendo Switch 2 arriving in 2024 seems like a consensus now. But that does not stop the rumour mill from spinning as we reach the end of the year. A reliable source reveals that the new Switch 2 is just as good as a PS4.

According to Activision via The Verge, Chris Schnakenberg, Head of Activision’s Platform Strategy and Partner Relations reveals the Switch 2 is close to “Gen8 platforms in terms of performance”. He also mentioned that Activision could produce something interesting based on its history with PS4 and Xbox One

To put it simply, the man compared the Nintendo Switch 2 with the likes of PS4 and Xbox One. He also urges Activision executives to produce games for this console given their successful track record with the previous two consoles. According to the report, Schakenberg’s decision was based on his direct briefing with Nintendo in late 2022. Hence, it is safe to assume he would know best.

In addition, the PS4 and Xbox One technology is almost ten years out now. While some wonder if the tech is still relevant for the Nintendo Switch 2, we believe this is a minor concern for Nintendo. After all, the Switch’s hybrid nature is what made it so beloved and popular among fans. Plus, the Switch itself was a generation behind when it debuted alongside other consoles of its generation.

This is just hilarious

Recently, the graphic quality of MK 1 on Switch has become a meme of sorts. But with the processing power of a PS4 on the Switch 2, that problem will become a thing of the past. In conclusion, graphics are not a major concern for Nintendo. Besides, what’s the point of having a beautiful game if you don’t enjoy it?
