If you are an Apple fan, then this news might surprise you. According to RR Auction, the classic computer that kickstarted Apple’s legacy is now on auction in Boston.
For your information, this is also Steve Wozniak’s signed computer, also known as Apple-1. The computer has been restored to a fully operational state. It also comes with a custom-built case with a built-in keyboard. Tim Bajarin, chairman of Creative Strategies said:
"It's an incredibly rare commodity. You can trace the growth of the PC industry to the Apple-1.”
Originally, the computer was sold at $666 (~RM3023.64). Today, this computer should sell for at least US$200000 (~RM908000) at an auction that runs through Aug 24. Interestingly, the Apple-1 prototype was sold last year at $700000 (~RM3178000.00). Plus, about 200 computers were manufactured between 1976 and 1977 in Steve Jobs's garage in Los Altos, California. At that point, 175 were sold.

The auction includes Apple company check No. 2 signed by Jobs and Wozniak and dated March 19, 1976. According to the check, US$116.97 was handed to Ramlor Inc, a circuit board maker. Experts believe this led to the production of the first Apple-1 computers. RR Auction also mentions that the check was expected to sell for US$50,000, but early bidding has already surpassed that total.
