The realme 9 gives awesome bang-for-your-buck for less than RM1000, here's why

Smartphones get better every year. You don't see much of an upgrade in some years, but the overall changes are quite significant compared to a few years ago.

Even mid-range smartphones are pretty good these days and come with plenty of features. That's why it can be tough to pick one out of the many available. For instance, there's the realme 9 that was recently launched. Here's why the realme 9 gives awesome bang-for-your-buck for less than RM1000.

Ripple Holographic Design

If you are buying a smartphone, it might as well look good right? Depending on the price range, some mid-range smartphones look plain. But realme went out of its way to ensure that the realme 9 would have a good design.

Specifically, the realme 9 has the Sunburst Gold and Stargaze White colours that look quite impressive. Both variants feature the Ripple Holographic design, which gives the phone a bit of a wavy gradient that's pleasing to the eye.

108MP ProLight Camera

Of course, the realme 9 isn't just a good-looking phone. It also comes with some impressive features. The most notable one would be the main camera - the 108MP ProLight Camera.

This camera is powered by an ISOCELL HM6 image sensor, which uses 9-sum pixel binning to deliver brighter and clearer pictures. Besides that, it has camera features like Street Photography Mode 2.0 with preset filters to create photos with a more 'vintage' look.

Great AMOLED display

On the front, realme went with a flat display with a punch-hole camera on the top left. But don't mistake this for a regular screen. A lot of mid-range devices now come with improved displays, and the realme 9 is the same.

The realme 9 has a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with good specs. This FHD+ (1080x2400) screen not only has a max refresh rate of 90Hz, it also has a max brightness of 1000 nits, which means you can easily see the screen even under bright sunlight.

Other than the above, the realme 9 comes with other useful features. This includes the under-display fingerprint sensor, 33W fast charging, microSD card support (up to 256GB), and more. Overall, it's a pretty good deal at RM899 for the 6GB variant or RM999 for the 8GB variant. If you need an affordable mid-ranger that looks good and has a high pixel count camera, you might want to check this one out.
