Last week, we reported on the render leaks of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy device lineups which included the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. Today, a leakster Max Weinbach claims both devices will be IPX8 rated.

If these devices are really certified with IPX8, it means both Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be the world’s first foldable smartphones able to withstand water depths of more than 1 meter for over 30 minutes. Aside from water resistance, dust proof is important too since the folding components might catch dust easily. Unfortunately, no information on that for now.

As for the tech specs, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 will be powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset, 8GB of RAM, 3300mAh battery with a 15W charging. It is equipped with a 6.7-inch S-AMOLED display and a 1.9-inch external display while sporting a 12MP primary camera and a 12MP ultrawide lens at the back as well as a 10MP front selfie camera.

As of now, there is still no official information on the tech specs and the upcoming launch event on 11 August, so do take this with a pinch of salt and stay tuned for more tech news updates on TechNave.com
