Our local cinemas may have reopened to the public in this period, but there are still some rules and SOPs to follow in order to watch inside the hall, such as needing to sit apart from each other which is understandable. That said, what if I told you that there's another way for Malaysians to enjoy each other's company while watching a movie on the big screen?
As the title suggests, the MCO period probably inspired TwoSpicy Entertainment CEO, Arvin Randahwa about bringing back the old school idea of a drive-in cinema. Called as M-Junction Drive-In Cinema, it's said that the drive-in cinema experience will be held at the Malaysia Tourism Centre (MATIC) and only 50 cars are allowed to enter. It should also be noted that only two people are allowed to be together in the car (due to the SOPs regulation), so that's too bad but a great idea for couples or bffs nonetheless.

If you're wondering about the movie-watching experience, TwoSpicy Entertainment is using a huge LED screen panel (measurement unknown) and the sound is transmitted through Bluetooth and WiFi. As for movie rights, they would need to apply for movie licenses for upcoming and newly released films but other than that, they will be showing classic and recent movie releases including local ones.
Can you book online or you can just drive-in? Well, the answer to that is both. According to vulcanpost.com, there will be two ticket tiers - the sponsors and higher ticket categories (RSVP) are for the front rows, whereas the rest is for the first-come-first-serve basis. Customers can also order snacks as well on the spot or have it included in the ticket package. Of course, temperature check is still necessary before going in.

When will it be ready? Well, sources say that it is "tentatively set for 20 July 2020" but we haven't heard much about it yet (also, it was raining heavily last night, must have affected the launch).
