Experiencing losses due to online fraud is painful. However, it is even worse when there are those who try to take advantage of this situation to cheat again. Recently, the Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CID) of the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) announced that it had detected a fake advertisement on Facebook, which claimed to be able to help recover money that had been defrauded.
For your information, the advertisement also displays the official PDRM logo as well as the words "Royal Malaysia Police, Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID). However, the PDRM JSJK denied any connection with the advertisement and insisted that it did not offer such services.
Consumers are also advised to be careful and not be easily fooled by such offers. If you fall victim to a scam or suspect any suspicious activity, immediately contact the National Scam Response Centre (NSRC) at 997 for immediate assistance.
