Previously, we mentioned how everyone in Malaysia can bid for special EV plate numbers. Recently, a unique number plate has been bidded up to RM16000. That said, what should you know about it?
For your information, many popular numbers usually compete fiercely, such as one-digit numbers with bids starting at RM20000, or two-digit premium numbers that need to be bid from RM5000. The number '8055', is popular because its shape can be compared to 'BOSS', thus attracting many people's interest and the bid for this number starts at RM500. Even the number '805' which also carries the shape of the letter 'BOS' belongs to the type popular number and bidding for it also starts at RM500.
After the bidding ends, the JPJeBID system also lists the winner search so that you know the value you are willing to pay for a certain number. Plate number EV 8055 was successfully bid for RM15800 while plate number EV 805 was successfully bid for RM4001. Another number that may be popular among technology enthusiasts is 1337 which means 'leet', which is short for the word 'Elite' which means elite. Number 1337 was successfully bid for RM995 even though it was only a current number, with bids starting at RM350.
These successfully bid numbers must be registered within a year and for future electric car number plates, will use the consecutive series EV _ A, EV _ B and so on. All successfully bid numbers will not be able to be registered to vehicles other than fully electric, nor will they be allowed to be registered to hybrid vehicles. This EV number plate group will also start using the JPJePlate Electronic Registration Plate as soon as it is registered to the new electric car for use on the road.
