It has been almost two years since OpenAI launched ChatGPT which was the trigger of the generative AI revolution. Since its emergence, the use of AI technology in various matters is no longer awkward. According to the Visual Capitalist, these are the countries that use ChatGPT the most. So, what should you know about it?
According to data from the Global Consumer Sentiment Survey by CCI Boston Consulting Group 2023, among the countries surveyed, India has the highest number of ChatGPT users in the world with 45%. This may be due to the large number of IT jobs in the country, where ChatGPT could be a valuable asset.

In addition, the study also found that countries that are younger by median age tend to have higher use of ChatGPT, possibly due to younger and more tech-savvy populations. Interestingly, the data also revealed that 3 countries from Southeast Asia namely Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand are listed among the highest users of ChatGPT in the world.
Additionally, the survey reveals how AI tools are being used. For example, survey respondents in India and the Philippines (higher usage of ChatGPT) use AI for specific objectives such as assisting in research or as a virtual personal assistant. In contrast, according to BCG, respondents in the US and Germany (lower use of ChatGPT) were mostly just "playing around with it."
Overall, about 40% of all survey respondents said they were excited about AI, with 28% conflicted about it, and 29% concerned. We have yet to confirm the data on Malaysia. But, it would be interesting to find out about it.
