Threads might be four days old. But that does not stop it from recording over 100 million users after its launch. This is a new world record because ChatGPT took over two months just to reach the same number.
Interestingly, Threads users have been very active. Alex Heath claimed that there have been over 90 million posts and 190 million likes shared on the app. As of now, Threads is an early hit with everyone. CEO, Mark Zuckerberg when asked about the launch of the app:
“Way beyond our expectations”
Mark reported that Threads recorded over 2 million users in the first two hours. The number raised steadily to 5 million, 10 million, 30 million then 70 million. As of now, Threads is on course to catch up to Twitter, which has a record of over 260 million daily users. However, that might change soon because Twitter’s traffic is on the decline at the moment.
Meanwhile, Threads is slowly growing among Malaysians. Social media apps such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tiktok remain the country’s favourite. But it won’t be surprising to see us joining the bandwagon soon.
