Threads is testing a new way to hide spoilers in posts

Meta has started testing a spoiler-hiding feature on Threads, allowing users to blur specific parts of their posts. Announced by Instagram and Threads head Adam Mosseri, the tool gives creators the ability to mark text or images as spoilers during post creation.

Once published, this content is blurred, and viewers can choose whether or not to tap and reveal it.

A nice addition for movie enthusiasts

The feature is designed to help users avoid unwanted spoilers for shows, movies, games, books, and other media while still participating in discussions. Unlike previous approaches on other platforms where spoiler formatting is inconsistent, Threads is integrating this as a built-in option.

Currently in limited testing, the feature appears as a toggle when posting, letting users mark selected parts of a post. It's unclear when or if this will roll out widely, but Meta is actively gathering feedback.

This small but welcome addition is part of Threads’ ongoing push to improve user experience, joining other recent features like a dedicated media tab and better post controls.
