Threads launches a new Communities feature that allows users to discuss selected topics locally. It is very similar to the Community feature on X. Initially, there are 100 communities discussing topics such as sports, K-pop, TV series, movies and more.
You will get a label on your Profile
When you join a particular community, a label will be displayed on the profile screen. The thread will provide special emojis that can only be used in that particular community to make membership feel more unique. People who contribute to the community will be given special badges as a token of appreciation.
To use this feature, you simply need to search for a specific topic. Threads will display communities that you can join if they already exist. New communities will be added over time.
