According to Nur Azre Abdul Aziz, Director of Strategic Partnerships at TikTok Shop Malaysia, this upgrade reflects TikTok Shop’s dedication to a consumer-first approach.
"Consumer confidence is the bedrock of a vibrant and sustainable e-commerce ecosystem," she said. "The 30-Day Free Returns policy offers peace of mind, boosting purchasing decisions and encouraging repeat buys.”
Internal studies show that over 80% of shoppers are more likely to buy when assured of easy returns, giving participating brands and affiliate creators a competitive edge.
Balanced Protection for Both Shoppers and Sellers
This 30-day Free Returns policy is carefully structured to be fair for all parties:
- Shoppers can now return products within 30 days of receiving them, simply by initiating the process via the in-app Orders Page.
- TikTok Shop will cover return shipping fees for items tagged as ‘No Longer Needed’, lightening the burden on sellers.
- Sellers retain the right to reject return requests if returned goods fail to meet acceptable conditions, protecting them from abuse.

The new return policy took effect in early June 2025 and applies to thousands of official local and international brands on TikTok Shop Mall, including:
