Nearly a month after being removed from the United States, TikTok is now back on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. So, what should you know about it?
This move follows the action of US Attorney General Pam Bondi, who reportedly sent a letter to Apple to assure it that the company would not be fined for distributing or maintaining the application. Previously, Apple and Google removed TikTok from their app stores in January to comply with laws banning apps owned by ByteDance, TikTok's parent company.
Despite President Donald Trump signing an executive order in January directing the Justice Department not to enforce the ban for 75 days, Apple and Google have remained reluctant to relist the app due to the risk of billions of dollars in fines. So far, both companies have not yet issued any official statements regarding the letter of guarantee.
In another development, Vice President JD Vance has reportedly been tasked by President Trump to monitor negotiations regarding the possible sale of TikTok. We have yet to confirm other details on the news. Hopefully, everything will be sorted out soon.
