TikTok may add a ‘Watch History’ feature so that you can finally find that elusive video stuck in your head

Have you ever got a video stuck in your head but you can’t seem to find it anywhere online? Well, that’s where a watch history in a video-sharing or streaming app comes in handy.

Unfortunately, that feature is actually missing from the world’s most popular website and one of the most popular apps in the world, TikTok. However, this may change soon as the popular app is reportedly testing a new feature that allows for just that.

As shared by @hammodoh1 on Twitter, he found a a ‘Watch History’ feature under the ‘Content and Activity’ tab on an undisclosed version of the TikTok app. @hammodoh1 previously unearthed several upcoming features on various social media platforms, though he never revealed his insider sources for the findings.

Nevertheless, given his track record, it seems that TikTok may finally be adding an option to browse through videos that users have seen before similar to YouTube. However, do note that this may just be an internal test and might never actually see the light of day.

Currently, there is no way to view your watch history on TikTok. One popular workaround is to simply search for videos and filter based on videos that you’ve seen, though admittedly this is super inconvenient and quite ‘mafan’, especially if you have no idea what search keyword to use.

What do you guys think? Do you think TikTok should just introduce a watch history feature without testing it internally first?
