TikTok to feature more educational content via its dedicated STEM feed

Does TikTok truly bring negative impact on the younger generation? Like it or not, this is how the older generation see it. Thanks to its popularity, TikTok has become a scapegoat for everything that is unfavourable. However, that could change soon.

For your information, TikTok will feature more educational content through a special channel that promotes Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) content. Previously this STEM track was given to TikTok users in the United States only. After activation, 33% of users chose to receive STEM content recommendations on their “For You” tab. As a result, there was a 24% increase in STEM content.

In addition, the STEM content stream is enabled for all users aged 18 and under. For other users, it needs to be activated manually. We have yet to confirm when these STEM content recommendations will be made available to all global users. After all, its introduction in America and Europe only happened after the authorities accused TikTok of poisoning the minds of young people with "garbage content".

So, if you want the same feature in Malaysia, maybe you need to put pressure on the authorities. Who knows? They might request TikTok to do the same for our country too.
