TikTok is now following the subscription trend by bringing one to its platform. After Instagram announced early testing of paid subscriptions, the popular short video app has also been discovered doing limited testing for a feature that will allow creators to charge their fans for exclusive content.

According to The Information, TikTok's subscription feature is in an early testing phase and is only available to "a small group" of creators. The platform also hasn't specified how it works, whether it's pay to access all content from a creator or just selected content. However, it's the latter that is more possible as that's how everyone is doing now.

TikTok already has an existing monetizing feature that lets users tip the creators from buying virtual gifts. By bringing the subscription feature, it will offer the creators more monetization options. Besides TikTok and Instagram, Twitter had also introduced Super Follows last September, in which users get to receive badges and see bonus tweets by paying a fee.
