TikTok users can now make use of music from Universal Music Group

When it comes to social media platforms, TikTok is rather popular in Malaysia. As you may know, a lot of TikTok videos involve music. Of course, you can only use music that is allowed. This is why it's great when our options have increased.

Earlier today, TikTok and Universal Music Group (UMG) announced an expanded global partnership. This agreement opens the way for users to include music from UMG in their TikTok videos. It was confirmed that users will have access to clips from UMG's full catalogue of labels. In return, artists under UMG will be compensated for the use of their music.

According to Engadget, TikTok is also working on a way to allow creators to add affiliate links for products in videos. The platform could also be working on a feature to enable live shopping, a kind of live-streamed channel that you can buy things from with a few simple taps. However, there are no concrete details on these features yet.

Being able to use more music clips in TikTok is nice, but I'm not too keen on the platform adding more e-commerce elements. Having said that, what are your thoughts about that? Let us know in the comments and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
