Another month and another top trending search list from Google here in Malaysia, this time around for April 2023. Number 1 on the list has to be the Earthquake alert that everyone recently got about the 6.2 magnitude earthquake near North Sumatra. It’s certainly raised a lot of questions about Malaysia’s earthquake readiness.
Other standout highlights for us would be the Hari Raya 2023 Aidilfitri that recently happened along with the Hybrid Solar Eclipse. However, in terms of tech the Infinix Hot 30 recently trended at number 5, no doubt thanks to all the hype for its recent launching.

- Gerhana Matahari ~ Malaysia experienced a partial solar eclipse on April 20, a rare phenomenon which last occurred in 2020, with viewing programs using eclipse glasses were held throughout the country.
- Man City vs Liverpool ~ Liverpool lost 4-1 in this Premier League match against Manchester City who proved their worth even in the absence of striker Erling Haaland who was recovering from an injury.
- IPL 2023 ~ After four years, Cricket’s Indian Premier League 2023 returned to its original home-and-away format, with matches kicking off in April which included Delhi Capitals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Gujarat Titans vs Mumbai Indians.
- Bayern vs Man City ~ Manchester City defeated Bayern Munich 3-0 in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final match and was led by Erling Haaland to a 1-1 draw in the second leg, thus advancing Manchester City to the semi-final.
