Taking another plunge into the now nearly saturated tablet market, Toshiba are trying their luck with a trio of Excite tablets. Going under the names of the Excite Pure, Excite Pro and Excite Write, all three models share the same overall plastic feel, the same 10-inch design, ports and Android 4.2 operating system. The differences between the three are in the tech specs.
The tech specs for the Excite Pure for example includes:
- NVIDIA Tegra 3 SoC processor
- 10.1-inch AutoBrite display (1280 x 800, Gorilla Glass 1)
- 1GB RAM
- 16GB storage + microSD
- 3MP rear camera
- Stereo speakers with DTS Premium Voice Pro
- Micro HDMI + Micro USB ports
The Toshiba Excite Pro on the other hand has the following tech specs:
- NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor
- 10.1-inch PixelPure display (2560 x 1600, Gorilla Glass 2)
- 2GB RAM
- 32GB storage + microSD
- 8MP rear camera
- Harmon Kardon Stereo speakers with DTS Premium Voice Pro
- Micro HDMI + Micro USB ports
The Toshiba Excite Write shares the same tech specs as the Toshiba Excite Pro but also comes with a Wacom digitizer offering 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity built into the 2K display. All three models can be used with the optional keyboard cover or dock. The Excite Pure will feature at an MSRP of $299, while the Excite Pro will go at $499. The Excite Write is just a bit higher at $599. All three models are expected to be available on 25 June 2013 for online and major retailers.
