Six years ago Google Duplex was shown as a virtual assistant that could make phone calls on behalf of the owner. Although it has been given to users in the United States for more than half a decade, this feature has not been given to other users as promised by Google. That said, what should you know about it?

For your information, Truecaller announced that their app will be able to answer phone calls on behalf of the owner using their real voice. This feature is named Personal Voice. Truecaller will work together with Microsoft Azure AI Speech to realize features that have only been able to be offered by Duplex.

In addition, you can access Personal Voice through the AI Assistant and then train the AI model by reading a few lines of words provided by the application. After being trained, it will become the owner's replacement and answer the phone when needed. All the time the transcript will be displayed on the phone screen so that the owner can make the choice to answer the important call.

For your information, this feature is similar to the AI Assistant feature announced in 2022. However, it was only available in some countries. Currently, Truecaller says Personal Voice can be tested by a few selected customers first. So, we should wait for more confirmation from the company.
