None of the cameras on modern smartphone takes 3D images. Wouldn’t it be nice to have that capability, where you can capture a moment in glorious 3D? Now you can. The Eye-Plug was recently announced in Computex, and it can shoot 3D images with your smartphone, by just plugging it into the USB Type-C port.
According to the manufacturer, it can turn any compatible phone into a 3D camera, much like those devices that have a dual-camera setup. Thanks to the reversible nature of the USB Type-C port, the camera module can face either way for photos and selfies.
While the device is still in the prototype stage, the manufacturer expects it to retail at only USD 35 (˜RM 145) so anyone can theoretically take 3D photos for 3D viewing later on.
