Twitter Blue will now let you upload videos that are 2 hours long

Twitter has decided that its paying customers should be rewarded with more. Elon Musk has been adding increasingly more features to the platform's Twitter Blue subscription plan, and the latest one is more than a bit head-scratch inducing.

Yesterday, Musk announced that Twitter Blue verified users will now be able to upload videos up to 2 hours in length or 8GB in size. Verified subscribers were quick to take advantage of the new feature, uploading all kinds of videos with different lengths (like 2-hour nyancat videos). There was even someone who uploaded a licensed movie, but received a DMCA takedown in no time.

One question we have is: Is the 8GB mentioned the upload limit per video or the total storage limit? Regardless, this new 'feature' has potential for abuse. Besides the movie video example, some people could use it as an alternative to cloud storage for videos. It could also encourage more people to upload NFSW videos, something you can see users commenting on in response to Musk's announcement.

Nobody goes to Twitter to watch long videos, so what's the point? Well, some users are excited for this and think it could replace YouTube. What do you think? Share your thoughts in the comments and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
