Audio-only chat rooms have become the latest trend, with many companies looking to emulate the concept. For instance, there's the Twitter Spaces that was first released in India back in February. Now, Twitter is ready for a wider rollout.

Yesterday, Twitter officially announced Twitter Spaces for the global audience. While anyone can join a Twitter Space, the company previously limited the number of people who can host one. Now, any user with at least 600 followers can host their own audio-only Spaces. However, note that the rollout seems to be gradual. There are Twitter users with over 600 followers but have reported that they lack the ability to host Spaces.

Twitter also talked about testing Ticketed Spaces, which will be a way for hosts to monetise audio events. As the name suggests, the idea is to sell virtual 'tickets' that allow users access to a Twitter Space. There are also some details on how users can host a Twitter Space, schedule reminders, add captions, and more.

To be honest, the idea of audio-only rooms like these could be interesting. It's basically like listening to a live podcast. However, we're not sure how popular they would be. What do you think? Share your thoughts in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for further updates about this.
