The Elon Musk era of Twitter is now in full swing and the world’s richest man has already put his stamp on the social media platform that he purchased in October. The latest change that Musk has implemented in Twitter is to remove the ‘Twitter for iPhone’ and ‘Twitter for Android’ labels which are shown at the bottom of tweets.

In a tweet, Musk announced that Twitter will finally stop adding what device a tweet was written on below every tweet. He further elaborated that the badges are a “waste of screen space” and computing power, claiming that no one in the company actually knows why the labels were added in the first place.

Besides that, Musk also announced that Twitter is turning off “microservices” bloatware on the site, saying that less than 20 per cent of the microservices are actually needed for the social media platform to work. However, he didn’t actually reveal when these changes will be made, so we just have to keep an eye on our tweets to see when they are being implemented.
