Today, Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) have installed two 5G base stations at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park (MAEPS), Serdang and the Institut Latihan Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia, Sungai Buloh, Selangor. This is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative which will enable the frontliners and medical staff to take advantage of the network speed to run their operations for free.

According to their report, the two quarantine centres have 50 complimentary units of 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) terminals in total. The 5G network can deliver the speed up to 500Mbps WiFi connectivity for users and all WiFi usage. Besides the frontliners and medical staff to respond to any emergencies, the patients can also stay connected with their friends and family during their stay in the quarantine zone. This is not the first time that the company have installed a 5G base, as they previously established an Integrated Operations Command Centre (IOCC) or known as TM 5G Command Centre (5GCC) in Langkawi which was well received.
