In conjunction with Merdeka and Malaysia Day, U Mobile is having a promotion from now until 16 September 2021. In support of the government's Pakej Peranti RM1 Malaysia Prihatin initiative, the orange telco will offer an RM0.99 4G VoLTE-enabled mobile phone for U Mobile customers.

To qualify for the RM0.99 4G VoLTE-enabled mobile phone, new and existing U Mobile customers will have to have it bundled with the Unlimited HERO P79, P99, P139 or Giler Unlimited GX68 postpaid plan. Registration may be done on the company’s online store, physical stores or premier dealer outlets. It's that simple.

To refresh your memory, VoLTE (Voice over LTE) is a type of voice call on smartphones that use the 4G LTE network, resulting in HD quality audio and faster call connections. With VoLTE switched on, customers can continue to use mobile data applications while on phone calls as well. Since 3G will be retired in Malaysia by the end of the year, it's best to switch now for those who haven't.
