For your information, this recognition is based on actual user testing using the Speed Score methodology, which evaluates 3 main things, namely download speed, upload speed, and latency performance.
"We are pleased to present the Ookla Speed Test Award to U Mobile for the Fastest 5G Network in Malaysia for the period Q3-Q4 2025," said Stephen Bye, President and CEO of Ookla.
Furthermore, U Mobile's ULTRA5G infrastructure is built with 64T64R and Extremely Large Antenna Array (ELAA) technology, providing wide coverage, high capacity, and low-latency connections. HUAWEI Malaysia also contributes through MetaAAU and iBeam software for deeper coverage and stable connections.
Moreover, U Mobile's Chief Technology Officer, Woon Ooi Yuen, stressed their commitment to continue investing and improving the 5G network for richer digital experiences, from clear video calls to smooth live streaming.
In addition, Ookla described this award as objective evidence of U Mobile's superior performance. U Mobile targets 80% coverage of populated areas by the second half of 2026, in line with the country's digital transformation aspirations.
