Uber could launch a “flying taxi” service as early as 2026. This is made possible through a partnership with Blade, a subsidiary of Joby Aviation. So, what should you know about it?

Will we ever see a flying taxi in reality?

For your information, Uber has wanted to offer a flying taxi service with the eCRM concept being demonstrated in 2018. Uber's original plan was to offer UberAir by 2023, but after experiencing financial problems, its own flying taxi development project was halted.

The flying taxi war is now winding down, with Joby, eHang, Volocopter and Archer Aviation being the four main companies that have successfully made their first flights.

Archer, for example, will offer flying taxis at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. Volocopter failed to offer it at the Paris Olympics last year after failing to receive permission from the mayor.
